James Hitchcock, Ph.D.

James Hitchcock is Professor of History at St. Louis University. He received his Ph. D. from Princeton University, and has a particular interest in Modernism and its effects. He has authored many articles, some of which have appeared in New York Times Magazine and National Review, as well as in many scholarly journals.  His many books include The Supreme Court and Religion in American Life, Catholicism and Modernity, and The Pope and the Jesuits.
